KW Very Low Temperature Freezers

FLEXIBILITY (Structure and System)

Wide range of -86°C Freezers: vertical and horizontal models withdifferent capacity.
Possibly – in the vertical models – two doors rather than one (2D versions);
this solution allows to:
- Separate the samples with different handling characteristics.
It is advisable to use the lower casing for long term storage;
- Manage the two casings in a completely independent and autonomous manner, asthey are both equipped with a key lock;
- Use the lower casing as a horizontal freezer, as cold air tends to stratifybelow and herefore the temperature of the lower casing is stable while openingthe lower door.
- Have evaporation trays (ES) or mobile shelves (MS); in this case, there are 5rather than 4 ounter doors.
- Have air or H2O as well as SPLIT motor condensing groups.
- Have “embedded” solutions for classified environment (pharmaceuticalcompanies, biological banks...

Security

KW focuses on maintaining the quality of stored materials; this requiresmaximum safety. This is guaranteed by the high degree of thermal insulation,efficient temperature recovery (recovery time) and high uniformity andstability of the internal T; all this allows maximum preservation of storedproducts and materials.
- Exceptional insulation with polyurethane foamed on site (density 40Kg/mc.): on average, about 140 mm and/or special insulated materials such asV.I.P. panels and/or Aerogel.: this means less consumption,less startup time,slower T rise, greater product security, greater internal temperatureuniformity.
- Insulated internal counter doors (in foam polyurethane), to minimizehot air coming in.
T stability and uniformity guaranteed by special thermal fluid dynamics. Thisis proven by mappings performed with instruments adapted to the high standards, like GMP, GLP, FDA, etc.
KW’s vertical models have an exclusive tray evaporation system (ES): 5trays with 4 storage compartments and very high temperature uniformity.
Tray evaporation allows a very fast pull down, a really fast recovery time andvery good T uniformity. (Air)
condensation is achieved with special two-circuit condensers manufactured basedon KW specifications, with over 2600W of power and capable of enduring extremeenvironmental conditions.
Two-stage, cascade refrigeration system; two airtight compressors with 1.2 to1.7 HP according to model and capacity.
This allows for faster cooling/freezing of the materials being introduced, alsoin reference to power consumption.
In addition, KW Freezers can be equipped (optional) with a controlled access system with electrical key and transponder/badge RFID or finger-pass.
Controllers can be connected to the network through Ethernet doors or WiFi (Total Connectivity).
They are equipped with a monitor card for recording temperature, alarms etc.with USB port and SD CARD (Total Traceability).
Also available GSM module for online remote assistance.

Reliability

A guaranteed long term KW freezers are designed for heavy duty use, thanksto its robust
structure and high power cooling unit.
-Triple door gasket shall ensure maximum seal against air drafts, with specialresistance to
wear and tear.
-Unlimited warranty on steel parts.
The cooling unit is designed so that to ensure compressor’s maximum protection(5 year
warranty).

Hygiene

Hygiene shall be ensured by the fully AISI 304 stainless steel innerchamber (on demand also
AISI 316), with rounded edges; even the complete absence of vertical junctionsin the chamber
prevents dirt deposits.
The external surfaces shall be made of prepainted and/or painted sheet steelzinc (on demand
it can be made of AISI 304 satinized stainless steel). The smooth surfaces makecleaning safer
and easier.

Innovation

KW plant is equipped with a chamber for environmental tests, with thepossibility to program
T and UR%, for research and development simulations, permanent and stableenvironmental
conditions and for products final testing.
KW is in addition developing an internal operating procedure to improvefreezers’ energy
performances to decrease consumptions. It is based on a system allowing todetermine the
performances of the refrigerating circuit and to control its process: CO P,efficiency of the
heat exchange to the condenser and evaporator, etc. in the light of the growingenergy,
environmental problems and the new European regulations.

Energy Saving

Energy Saving-Echocompatibility/Echosustainibility

Very high thermal insulation with extremely low thermal conductivity (between 140 and 175 mm.), also with Vacuum Insulation Panels, numerous inner counterdoors (up to 4 or more on demand).

The VIP panels are optional; KW through them guarantees an 18% 20% energysaving, while keeping constant average thickness or reducing the overalldimensions through a reduced thickness of the insulation (up to 90mm in the ULTSLIM Freezers).

Environmental Impact: thethermoplastic materials can be recyclable, as they are free from
chlorinated substances and heavy metals.
Insulated internal counter doors (in foam polyurethane), to minimize hotair coming in.
Triple silicone gasket, to minimize hot air coming in.
Double external door (2d), to minimize hot air coming in.
Very wide range of inner furnishing to minimize search time and tominimally expose samples which are not destined to sampling.

Attention to the environment:
-Use of HFC refrigerants (or alternatively natural HC and HFO) with ODP=0 and alow GWP (global warming potential), in the refrigerating circuits and theabsence of CFC and HCFC polyurethane foams;
-F-gas maintenance procedures;
-CO P (a parameter of cooling efficiency) of the systems used;
guaranteeing KW commitment for protecting the ozone layer in the atmosphere andfor limiting its
contribution to the greenhouse gas effect.
